You must have an active AutoPASS subscription at the time of your toll crossing in order to be exempt from paying. Fjellinjen only invoices full-price toll crossings, i.e. toll crossings made without an AutoPASS subscription. If you think you have an exemption, but have still received an invoice from Fjellinjen, this means that your AutoPASS subscription is inactive. This may be because your AutoPASS subscription has been blocked due to debt collection proceedings. Contact your AutoPASS provider if you have any questions about your AutoPASS subscription or your tag.
The exemption for people with reduced mobility does not apply to all toll stations in Norway. Therefore, even if you have an exemption, you will still receive an invoice for passing through toll stations where the exemption does not apply. The exemption for people with reduced mobility only applies on toll rings around urban areas, see complete list at autopass.no.
You must address any questions about invoices from your AutoPASS provider to said provider. You can find contact information for the providers here.
Fjellinjen normally has about 1 week processing time. During holiday periods or particularly high demand, processing time may be longer. Processing time doesn't begin until you've submitted a complete application. Remember to fill in all fields and attach all necessary documentation.
You can only get exemption for one car.
Exceptions apply for children with an HC-card, where both parents can have exemption registered on their AutoPASS agreement.
To be granted HC exemption, you must have an active AutoPASS agreement, and the AutoPASS agreement must be registered in the name of the person who has been granted the HC card.
Fjellinjen AS does not have access to information about AutoPASS agreements. Therefore, we require confirmation from your AutoPASS issuer that the AutoPASS agreement is in your name. We cannot process your application until we have received such documentation.
This documentation can be:
Fjellinjen does not have access to information about who has been granted HC exemptions by their municipality. To ensure that only those with a valid HC card receive exemption, we need documentation of the HC card.
Yes, if you receive a new tag, you must apply for exemption again.
Please use the application form on our website.
No, you don't need to apply for exemption again, provided that you update the registration number on your AutoPASS agreement and move the tag to the new car. In that case, the exemption will automatically transfer.
If you receive a new tag, you must apply for exemption again.
The exemption applies from the date we have approved and registered your exemption. The exemption will normally take effect the day after the decision is dated. This is indicated in the decision letter you receive from us. You will receive invoices for passages made before this date and will be required to pay them.
Unfortunately, we have no possibility to grant exemptions retroactively.
When you are granted an exemption, the decision letter specifies when the exemption expires. This usually coincides with the expiration date of your HC card. You are responsible for reapplying for exemption if you still meet the conditions for exemption.
Please use the application form to reapply for exemption.
Note that the exemption also expires on the 18th birthday if a child has been granted exemption, even if the HC card has a longer duration.
Exemption also automatically expires if you no longer have an active AutoPASS agreement/tag. For example, if your AutoPASS agreement is terminated or suspended due to debt collection.
Remember to apply well in advance – the exemption applies from when we have processed the application and registered the exemption. If there is a gap between the expiration of the exemption and the approval of a new exemption, you must pay for these passages. Unfortunately, we have no possibility to grant retroactive exemptions.
You cannot extend or renew an exemption. When the exemption expires or ceases, you must apply for a new exemption using our application form
To qualify for exemption, the HC card must have a duration of at least 2 years. If the HC card expires earlier than 2 years from the application date, you must attach the decision letter from the municipality in addition to the HC card so that we can see that the duration is at least 2 years.
Applications for exemption must be sent to one of the toll road companies in Norway. For an overview of the regional toll road companies, please visit [link to the overview].
To apply for exemption with Fjellinjen, applications must be submitted via the form on our website.
If you are unable to apply via the form, you can send the application by mail to: Fjellinjen AS, PB 459 Sentrum, 0105 Oslo.
Remember to fill in all fields and attach all necessary documentation. Your application will not be processed until it is complete with all required information and documentation. Approved exemptions apply from the time we have registered your application. Unfortunately, we have no possibility to grant retroactive exemptions.
You can find the tag number on the invoice for your AutoPASS agreement or on the side of the tag, beneath the barcode.
For children under 18 years old, exemptions can be registered for 2 vehicles. The agreement can be in the name of the parent/guardian. When the child turns 18 years old, a new AutoPASS agreement must be drawn up in the name of the person granted the HC card, and HC exemption must be reapplied for.
To obtain exemption during the rental period, you must register the registration number of the rental car on the tag that is registered with the exemption.
For this to be possible, the rental car company you are using must approve this and send a confirmation that you can register the rental car on your own tag.
If the rental car company does not approve registering the rental car on your tag, you must pay for the toll passages with the rental car
