From funding the Festningstunnelen to the Fornebubanen, Fjellinjen has collected and managed over NOK 50 billion since 1990, financing the future of mobility in the Oslo Metropolitan Area.
Toll road funding has transformed Bjørvika into a modern urban district and equipped Greater Oslo with Norway’s most advanced cycling network and public transport system.
In 2024, over NOK 4.1 billion was reinvested into the local community, with funds allocated to public transportation, pedestrian pathways, and cycling infrastructure across Oslo and Akershus.
Fjellinjen operates 83 toll stations in the Oslo region, recording an average of 32 million vehicle passages per month. Continuous improvement is a core priority, with an emphasis on technological optimization and innovative solutions.
As a leading player in transportation financing—and one of Norway’s 250 largest companies by revenue—Fjellinjen enables major infrastructure projects through efficient toll collection, loan financing, and traffic analyses based on extensive data. The company plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of mobility in the region.
Since its inception in 1990, toll revenues have reshaped Oslo and Akershus: Rådhusplassen has become car-free, the highway in Bjørvika now runs through a tunnel, and a vibrant new district has emerged. Fjellinjen has funded public transport initiatives such as the Metro Ring and the Løren Line, alongside new trams, metro carriages, bus terminals, and regional transport hubs—all financed through toll revenues.
In the years ahead, Fjellinjen’s funds will support the operation of public transport, the construction of the Fornebubanen metro line, and a new signaling system for the Oslo Metro.
Fjellinjen is a regional toll road company tasked with financing Oslopakke 3, a comprehensive plan for the operation and development of transportation projects in Oslo and Akershus.
Based at Schweigaards gate 16 in central Oslo, the company employs approximately 30 specialists dedicated to securing efficient funding for future transportation solutions.
Fjellinjen is jointly owned by Oslo Municipality (60%) and Akershus County Council (40%).
Every day, Fjellinjen registers more than a million toll crossings at our 83 toll stations. This is what happens when you pass a toll station.
